The Voice Inside Your Head

This week I’ve been challenged and liberated by an idea that got pressed into me by one book and a documentary. My consciousness was reflecting back to me that “It’s Time” to deal with this little roommate I have that is no longer friend, the ego.  What is that?  As Michael Singer puts it in his wonderfully simple but mind-altering book, The Untethered Soul: “It’s the voice inside your head.”

Did you ever notice that you  have an incessant voice inside your head that chatters constantly, about everything?  It can be positive or negative, and usually stops to analyze or comment on just about everything, including things in the past, present or future.  Most of the time it is mindless chatter that has nothing to do with the present moment or the possibilities in front of us. It is generally a great distraction and protects us from really experiencing what is happening, or what could happen, without our constant vigilance and self-protection.

In other words, it is the shell that keeps us “safe”, contained and curiously separate from other beings.

When our safeguards are down and we are engrossed in a conversation, or enjoying a tea, or going for a walk, or feeling love for someone or something, we don’t hear the voice so much. We are too busy – living and being.  Life feels easy, effortless and full of love.

When we feel tense or worried, according to Singer, we close off our heart and other energy channels, feeling constriction in our chest and throat (so we won’t share or express anything), and a general dip or plunge in our energy.  This is what makes us sick.  And this is what depression is if it goes unnoticed.

Another documentary sealed it in:  “The Quantum Activist” with Amit Goswami, Ph.D, (from the film, What the *bleep* do we Know?) claims that local consciousness (the one that is stuck ‘inside our head’) is different than, but connected to, the larger cosmic or causal consciousness, which animates and manifests all material and living things.  Consciousness precedes matter.  But more than that, non-local, non-physical, “God-consciousness” or prime Source moves through everything, and unites everything.

Science has proven the quantum field underlies everything, and connects everything in one unified field.  But Newtonian physics still resists accepting the implications of the quantum field.

So as we are going about our day, hearing the voice inside our heads, feeling separate from everyone else, think like a Mystic (or Quantum Physicist):

You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the ocean.

You are not a separate human being. You are a being connected to all human beings and the cosmos.

You know what it’s like to be you. You also know what’s it’s like to be All of You, and that includes everything.

Just imagine if you could transcend this local, time-oriented, limited voice that is constantly telling you what to do, and what not to do, what to think and what to avoid, what feels dangerous and uncertain.  What if you could just look at it as a separate entity, as not yourself?  What if you could detach from this voice and identify with your larger, more expanded Self as a new reality?

You can.  In meditation, or other transcendental states, including a walk in the park, or a communal moment with a friend, stranger or loved one.  Whenever we bypass self-interest and find common ground. Whenever we share something.  Whenever we laugh and forgive.  Whenever we stare into someone’s eyes and see our Self, we are looking in the mirror of our own Soul, the Unified Field of consciousness, of energy, of Life.

Perhaps there is more than that.  Perhaps this is just the beginning of the cosmic wheel, of understanding the universe and how our minds think and feel.  I delight in knowing this is not “it”, that I am not trapped in a body or in my own thoughts or the past anymore. I can transcend what I think I know now based on limited understanding, and I can share that larger picture. I can go beyond.  Or I can find true love in the spark of a friend.

I hope you experiment with this idea this week.  Whether it is new to you, or you have known it all along – let’s practice the idea that we are not alone. And that there is a plane of existence we can all share.

Ah, the true Friend.

The Energy of BEING

What does it feel like to just Be?

A dear friend of mine, Santari Green reactivated that very feeling in me recently. I was struggling with the idea of controlling events, planning and shaping the future. Not quite “showing up to the party of life” as it were.

I ran an energy experiment in my body. I had been feeling a weakness on my right side. First I tune in and become fully present, listening to what is happening, what it is “saying to me”. Then I respond from a deeply honest place and a powerful “intunement” rises within me, runs through my right side and  fills my entire body and mind.  I am sparkling and alive!

 Free….

Now that’s results. Being equals doing. First the being, then the doing. The energy animates me to get whatever I need to do done in an energy of possibility and joy. Nothing feels impossible to me. I am leaping for joy!

I also know that if I do this my body will heal naturally and I will be more effective and magnetic in everything I do. My only job then is to remember to tune in, listen and respond from this deeply powerful place. To Be the Presence.

He then said, “What if you were like this all the time?”  Hmmmm… some pretty fine words to ponder. What if I could be that powerful, all the time… Why wait for an event?, or another reason to feel that good, that alive, that “on” without trying? Why not show up to the party of life as the gift ALL THE TIME…?

Let me first BE and see what the energy brings, if it feels inevitable like a hose running smoothly over the surface of the grass, raising vibrations, raising the green pigment to the surface and shining its way through the breeze. Thirst quenched, satisfied, dripping with possibility. Mmmmm…..

Do you remember the Mmmmmmsss….?  I miss the Mmmmmmmmmmsss.  Well, Here I Am again!

Thank you, Santari, for a wonderful carpet ride of magic possibility. Can’t wait to share more dreams and vision, wait! more possibilities – no, wait! More Beingness, Power and Presence, right here, right now, with You.

AMEN!

P.S What does BEING “do” for you?  How can you “Be” more often, more still, more present, more powerful? What would happen if you could be this way all the time?

Write your answers below. :)

Miracle 24: “Beacon of Hope” Audio GIFT

Today I had a conversation with Spirituality Life Coach, Nat Couropmitree in which we talked about going from “Not-Enough to Self-Love” or empowerment. Although my own story shed light on what it was all about for me, it wasn’t until I let go and let the light flow that my true message came through.  It wasn’t about me. This was for everyone.

Here is a free Audio meditation I did for you inspired by today’s message:

LISTEN:  Beacon of Hope Light Meditation by Krista Moore July 2012 (mp3 download)

And a Prayer to Light the Way:

I walk as a beacon of hope for others whose light stands in the way of darkness,

who cannot see, who hide and cannot find their way

I walk as a beacon of light hoping that those who cannot see will come to meet me and

See that I light their way

I walk as a beacon of light

Hiding mine as well at times, and knowing

That as I shine forth and ask for forgiveness, and a great task,

One will be given me.

There are those who seem to walk alone,

Who have no currency the world wants

And yet, they walk with me

And I with them.

They are not dark, but light

I am certain

I can see

I am determined to be that light for them

As they are for me

We walk together

Knowing this light cannot be

Without being shared,

Without direct currency from the One who knows

The One who sees

The One who purposes it

And Gives it All to All and One for One

Forever

And So it Is

Amen

Affirmation:  Let me be a Beacon of Hope, so that as my light shines, it lights the way for others. As they remember who they are and see, they become a Beacon of Hope like me.

Miracle 8: “Speak The Truth”

“Miracle 8″ in Krista’s “30 Days of Miracles 2012″  Series.

Sometimes a miracle comes in the unexplained.  A clear message delivered across time, between dimensions, in an alternate form of reality or state of consciousness. Recently I had the privilege of working with some amazing people at the Ontario Hypnosis Centre.  I obtained my certification in hypnotherapy and past life regression, and as part of that process, experienced some pretty radical messages that would clarify my purpose in this life and what I needed to learn most. Here is one I will not soon forget:

As I “touched down” in time, I found myself standing on parched earth in front of a mud hut as a young boy “Tandriqe”. A circle gathered outside the huts, children jumped and played, but I was not allowed in – I had not yet become a man.  In a later sequence I speared a suffering animal, and ran back to the village, celebrating in the ritual feast of manhood, and choosing a bride.

Himba tribe: mud huts by James Whatley

Later I experienced what young Tandrique suffered, being taken on a boat to a new world, crawling on the ground as a slave. I heard him speak through me as he fought against injustice, trying to rescue animals from a bad man, and being chased down, hunted like prey.

The boy I was spoke to me, through me. When asked what lessons I needed to learn from this life, I heard him say defiantly:

“Speak the Truth. Protect the innocent.

Don’t worry what they say. Not everybody is worth it.”

This was a hard lesson, even for me now. I would have to spread my message without worrying what other people thought of me. I would have to speak the truth, even if it was uncomfortable, unpopular or even dangerous.

A month later I was challenged to speak in public. I was shocked to be told my message may not be compatible with what their establishment thought, and that I may need to taper it a bit, preface it, not push the boundaries too far.

I felt the tension of that moment, as I stood up to the podium.  I told my story. I spoke the truth as best as I could. I did not sacrifice the message to please others, nor hurt myself by denying what it is I most wanted to say. I held my own, and quite possibly helped others who needed that message that day.

Had I worried what other people thought, I might have lost the message, and the miracle of what Tandrique taught me – a lesson I may not have known I needed had I not opened myself up to the full encounter of who I was and who I am yet to be.

It doesn’t matter whether I walked on that African desert sand or suffered as Tandrique or not.  What matters is that the truth found its way to me. The miracle was delivered – loud and clear. And I was willing to receive it, hear it, and give it.

I am open to miracles

To Truth, to Life, to Surprise

To having my ideas blown open wide

Peel me open. I am exposed.

Dear Truth. Give me the courage

to Speak the Truth

Amen.

What is the Truth you most want to share?  What would you die to defend? Speak it now. Don’t wait another day.

10 Ways to Transform from Fear to Love

This is an article I wrote as Miracle 4 for my “30 Days of Miracles” trekkers.

From SCARED to S-A-C-R-E-D:

10 Ways to Transform from Fear to Love

The Miracle Is You

by Krista Moore

We all get scared. That’s why there are so many ways to solve it. I have compiled my favorites into one convenient place.  Pick what strikes you, or write your own. Then put them on your wall!

1. SING, HUM, DANCE. That’s right. Nothing like looking silly to get you out of your head and into the present. Singing and humming short circuits negative thought and connects you to your spirit, bringing you into balance with renewed energy.  If you want to really lift your spirits, do a little jig, flash mob dance or mambo!  No one has to see. And if they do, who cares? Maybe someone will join you!

2. CHALKBOARD COUNTDOWN.  Close your eyes. Breathe. Imagine a chalk board in front of you. Imagine writing the number 25 on the board. Erase it and then write 24. Countdown in this way until you reach 1, let go and relax. Come back to the present moment refreshed and alert.

3. WRITE IT DOWN.  All of it. Everything going on in your head until you feel a slight twinge of hope, a feeling of an “answer”, even a breakthrough.  Even if you write down a few words of gratitude to end your thought, you will feel slightly better that you vented, got it out, and invited something good in.  Journaling is a sacred act. You are talking “to” something, whether it is yourself, an imaginary friend or a higher power

4. TELL SOMEONE YOU TRUST Vent to another – a friend, therapist, support person. Ask for guidance, support, or just a listening ear without judgment. Talk or cry it out. Receive praise, clarity, love.  Baring your soul to another person or in a circle is a sacred act of trust.  Your vulnerability, when poured out in a safe place, in a safe relationship, will transform your heart and mind (and the world!

5. PRAY/MEDITATE. Light a candle. Unburden yourself. Let the “income” flow through your breathe and feel your body and mind calm. Inspiration may come to resolve it. If not, have a bath, or curl up in bed. The light will come. Sometimes all you need is to detach and rest.

6. TAKE ACTION.  Make a promise you’re going to do something about it. If not right now, when? Make that call, pay the bills, whatever it is. Just do it as soon as possible and be done. Cross it off your list. Take the next step. You’ll feel instant relief like a plane that finally has lift off!

7. GO FOR A SENSORY WALK.  Walking or moving meditations out in nature can lead you back to the centre of yourself. Ask a question. Then listen. See, smell, hear, touch, FEEL. Let the answers come to you, spill into you. Be cradled in what is, and let go of what is not. Your mood will be lifted, with sunlight, wind, sea or storm. Immerse yourself and be transformed.

8. FIND A MORE POWERFUL THOUGHT. Start where you are. Don’t fight yourself. Just reach a little higher. The more positive and hopeful (yet still believable) words & feelings you can reach for, the higher your spirits will rise.  You will know when you’ve hit it: You will feel it in your body!  Try a new “I AM” statement. E.g.  From “I am nervous/afraid…” to:    “I am capable and strong. I Will figure this out.”

9. LOVE SOMEBODY ELSE.  If you can’t “get it” right now, give it.  Try your best to give love and joy to another. Trust that the universe has something good to move through you, and that you are good, no matter how badly you feel.  Give a little, and the whole world will smile on you. The miracle is in realizing you are the same as everybody else. You are not alone. Everybody needs love. When you give, you receive. That is the miracle of love.

10. GO FROM SCARED INTO  S-A-C-R-E-D. It doesn’t take much to realize how holy you are. When you feel scared, look for something sacred to focus on. It could be a religious symbol, a hopeful sign in nature, an animal, a child, or your own innocence.  Wear your holy crown for a day, knowing you are safe and protected, deserving and loved.  Communicate with angels. Trust you are not alone. The sacred is within you, always accessible, always loving. Nothing can take that away from you.

The 3 Layers of Letting Go

butterfly flying free from cupped hands

Letting go is the cornerstone of living a life of peace, serenity and purpose. Having to “go it alone” or struggling to make other people fit our expectations is not conducive to happiness.

How do you let go? There are many ways.

Here are 3 Ways I have learned to let go…

AUDIO: The 3 Layers of Letting Go

1.  Personal Level – Letting Go of False Beliefs, Negative Thoughts & Patterns

Sometimes the shift is as simple as entertaining a sense of possibility. Not shutting down to “no” or “too late”.  Listening to stories of others who have “made it” or found a new path can be inspiring. Reading inspiring literature. Learning new mental habits of awareness. Opening your consciousness to the new.  Questioning any hard-line beliefs or dis-beliefs. Staying open to what’s true. Watching how you talk to yourself. Letting go means love. And loving yourself is paramount.

2. Relational Level – Letting Go of People, Institutions, Organizations, Situations, External Restrictions

This can be about forgiveness and opening to love in existing relationships. It may also require more honest questions about your growth.  Do you feel empowered and free enough to be yourself in your existing  circumstances? Can you create safety and teach others to receive you differently?.  Sometimes you can adapt your ways, but others can’t or won’t. If you don’t feel free enough, begin seeking partners and communities who will uphold the best in you, love you and want you to be yourself. It may be difficult, it may be painful, but if you have exhausted all avenues and have given your best, it may be time to love and let go.  Then pour your heart into a loving container of “peeps” who get you. In it you will be fed, and your new life will be given the right soul (and soil) to bloom.

3. Spiritual Surrender – Letting Go & Asking for a Higher Power / Self/ Spirit to Guide You

This is the most humbling of the three, and extremely personal, and yet completely impersonal. It is about something greater than yourself. A deeper vision, insight, or understanding.  A connection to your source of inspiration. If you can’t find it, ask. Seek. Listen. It will often show up in other people and new circumstances. It will invite you in. It will feel comforting and empowering.  Sometimes you have to scream and yell to be heard.  But this voice, inner nudge, intuition, Life force, Friend – will never leave you. You are a part of everything. Once you connect, you will become part of the flow of Life.

MORE WAYS TO CONNECT & LET GO:

- Take 5 minutes in the morning, or while you are driving in your car, and just allow yourself to listen. Ask yourself how you feel, what you need, and be prepared to act on what you feel guided to do. What feels honest to you.

- Try doing things differently for awhile. Writing with the opposite hand, taking a different route, going for a sensory walk at lunch, doing karaoke, or going too far. Letting go of the old (habits, clothes, schedules, burdens) opens you up to your inner yearnings and passions. You may discover a new talent, desire, or circumstance that leads to something else unexpected. It is all connected.

- Seek support and encouragement. Find a partner, friend, circle or community where you can be yourself, and where growth and authenticity are paramount. We cannot do this alone. Letting go and changing is hard work. It takes commitment, but more than that, it takes love. And we cannot love alone. Find your “clan”. And watch the miracles grow!

Some Final Words of Wisdom:

“Letting go is trusting that your worst judgments about yourself and others are likely wrong, unfair and untrue.  It is believing the BEST in yourself and others and ACTING upon this new belief.”

“Although I fail to believe in myself sometimes, there seems to be something that has more faith in me. And when I let go, this faith is proven to be worthy and justified.”

“I have no goals but to live each day as an unguarded masterpiece.”

Relaxation & Visualization CD

FREE MEDITATION CD

I prepared this for my Evolutionary Woman group last week and thought you may enjoy it. It is a first recording of a Relaxation & Visualization CD meditation using the art of hypnosis. It is entirely improvised, and I found the flow of energy quite easy and effortless.  The imagery is quite beautiful and relaxing.  The women found it soothing and peaceful, and were able to visualize quite powerfully while in this altered state of hypnosis. You can also use it to attract good to you as you are far more receptive in this heightened state of awareness.

Hearing the Whisperings of Purpose

During my Hypnosis class last week, I experienced several past lives. It was a fascinating adventure and totally unexpected at times. Although I believe in past lives, not everybody does.  And I even found myself playing the devil’s advocate. A healthy skepticism to  keep my mind clear. Of course I was excited by the idea of it, and couldn’t help but have some positive expectations that it might give me clues as to the purpose of my current life. Otherwise, it’s just a good story…

I wasn’t disappointed.  More later!
